The GOP Just Spit in the Face of American Democracy

Well, now we know. We all know how the Republican Party wants to go down in history. They’ve made it as clear as might be.

First, two-thirds of the members of the Republican caucus of the Home of Representatives voted on Jan. 6 to refuse to affirm the outcomes of the presidential election. They continued doing so, we all know, after the riot, after Capitol Hill Police Officer Brian Sicknick lay useless, after a mob had defaced the Capitol constructing. Denying Joe Biden the presidency was, in fact, the mission of the mob. So two-thirds of Home Republicans voted to condone the mob. And now, we’ve seen that 86 % of Republican senators have voted to disclaim what’s in entrance of their noses and demand that Donald Trump bears no blame they’ll present for the riot he incited.

In sum, congressional Republicans have put themselves on document saying that they’re, in impact, untroubled by the worst assault on our democracy because the Civil Struggle. The rioters had been justified, stated the two-thirds of Home Republicans who agreed that Biden wasn’t actually elected. And Senate Republicans stated that the president who urged them to march on the Capitol and battle like hell otherwise you gained’t have a rustic anymore after which sat again and watched and did nothing to cease it (and to this present day has by no means denounced it) bore no accountability for the assault, or no less than none that they might mete out.
